Plavix (clopidogrel) keeps the platelets in your blood from coagulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots that can occur with certain heart or blood vessel conditions. Plavix is used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels. How to consume
Plavix can be administered with or without food: For patients with non-ST-elevation ACS (UA/NSTEMI), initiate Plavix with a single 300 mg oral loading dose and then continue at 75 mg once daily. Initiate aspirin (75–325 mg once daily) and continue in combination with Plavix: and For patients with STEMI, the recommended dose of Plavix is 75 mg once daily orally, administered in combination with aspirin (75–325 mg once daily), with or without thrombolytics. Plavix may be initiated with or without a loading dose.Because Plavix keeps your blood from coagulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots, it can also make it easier for you to bleed, even from a minor injury. Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if you have bleeding that will not stop. If you need surgery or dental work, tell the surgeon or dentist ahead of time that you are using Plavix. You may need to stop using the medicine for at least 5 days before having surgery, to prevent excessive bleeding. Follow your doctor's instructions and start taking Plavix again as soon as possible. Once you buy Plavix, do not stop using Plavix without first talking to your doctor. Use Plavix regularly to get the most benefit. Get your prescription refilled before you run out of medicine completely.
If you miss a dose after you buy Plavix online and use it, take it as soon as you remember, or if it is too late, skip the missed dose and continue with your routine dose at the next scheduled time. In the condition of consuming over dose, call your doctor and seek medical help.
Encounter with other drugs
Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use to prevent blood clots, including: A cancer medication like dasatinib (Sprycel), letrozole (Femara); Certain stomach acid reducers, like cimetidine (Tagamet), esomeprazole (Nexium); An antifungal medication like fluconazole (Diflucan), ketoconazole; HIV medications like delavirdine (Rescriptor), efavirenz (Sustiva, Atripla); Armodafanil (NuVigil) or modafanil (Provigil); Fluoxetine (Prozac) or fluvoxamine (Luvox); Gemfibrozil (Lopid); Isoniazid (Rifamate, Rifater); Seizure medication like felbamate (Felbatol) or oxcarbamazepine (Trileptal). This list may be incomplete, and Plavix may also encounter with other drugs too, which can be fatal to your health, always tell your doctor, about the other medication you use to avoid any complication.
While using Plavix, you may experience some common side effects like: Sore throat or fever; Speech problems; Yellowing of the skin or eyes; Sudden, severe, persistent headache; Discoloration of urine or stool; Diarrhoea or indigestion: Unusual bruising; Change in vision; Unexplained vaginal bleeding; Nosebleeds; excessive bleeding from cuts; Bleeding from gums when brushing teeth; Increased menstrual bleeding; Weakness; Rash; itching; Seizures.
